Dr George O. Waring IV is Founder and Medical Director of the Waring Vision Institute in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina, USA. A diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is internationally recognised for his leadership in cornea, cataract, lens, and refractive surgery.

He previously served as Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Storm Eye Institute and has held academic appointments at Clemson University and Emory University.

Dr Waring has authored approximately 400 scientific works and has served on more than 30 scientific advisory panels supporting the development of new technologies. Widely regarded as an innovator in refractive surgery, he has performed multiple surgical firsts in intraocular lens and excimer laser technology and holds prominent leadership roles within major international ophthalmic societies.
