Blake K. Williamson, MD, MPH, MS
Dr Blake K. Williamson is a third-generation ophthalmologist and nationally recognised leader in advanced cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Based in Louisiana, he continues a family legacy of ophthalmic care spanning nearly seven decades.
He earned master’s degrees from Columbia University and Johns Hopkins University before completing medical school at Louisiana State University and residency training at Tulane University, where he received consecutive top honours at the Tulane O’Brien Research Symposium. He subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in refractive cataract and anterior segment surgery.
Dr Williamson is widely regarded for early adoption of emerging technologies and has achieved multiple regional surgical firsts. He serves on national editorial boards and the ASCRS Council of 100, lectures internationally, and is recognised as a key opinion leader in innovation, research, and surgical education.
