Adventure will be the name of the game as we head through the AUSCRS 2019 program and exhibition area which will both be themed in adrenaline activities for all you AUSCRS thrill seekers!

Once again we are heading to the land of the Long White Cloud to New Zealand’s beautiful South Island, Queenstown.

Queenstown has been shaped by many different cultures and lifestyles from its earliest days—but it’s adventure that has the most lasting mark on those who visit or choose to live there.  This is not dissimilar to the our own AUSCRS remarkable history!  AUSCRS is truly the peak event on the ophthalmic calendar and Queenstown, as the adventure capital of the world, is a fitting destination.

Adventure will be the name of the game as we head through the AUSCRS 2019 program and exhibition area - both will be themed in adrenaline and extreme activities for all you AUSCRS thrill seekers!

So make sure that Crystal Clear Vision brings you to join us again in Queenstown from July 17-20.

Warmest regards,

Graham Barrett, President.

Karawau Village will be our home for AUSCRS 2019 and whilst the weather will be chilly, the ambience and world‐class hospitality will make you feel right at home.

The conference venue will once again be creatively set out at the Hilton with one area for the AUSCRS exhibition & food areas, and the adjoining area housing the main conferencing venue for the presentation of papers and our typical AUSCRS discussions.

Kawarau Village is not just a venue but a destination. The Karawau Village complex features three major accommodation venues - the Hilton Hotel Rooms and Hilton one and two bedroom residences and also Double Tree guest rooms - as well as an assortment of restaurants and shopping, with direct access to Lake Wakatipu. All this, less than five minutes to the airport and Frankton and only 15 minutes from the heart of Queenstown.

Queenstown is situated in the centre of New Zealand’s South Island. There are direct flights to Queenstown from many Australian capitals as well as many others that fly there via Christchurch.

QANTAS, Air New Zealand, Virgin Australia, JetStar are the main carriers from Australia to New Zealand ports. Other international carriers also fly to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch on their way through Australia.

As always, to secure the best and cheapest seats it’s recommended to book early.  As Queenstown can be heavily affected by weather it is also wise to keep some flexibility up your sleeve when making bookings as flights can be disrupted, especially in the peak of the snow season.

The AUSCRS Program in 2019 will again be held over the three days of the meeting featuring our regular sessions. including the Gold Medal Lecture and The Chat Session, along with other creative sessions designed to stimulate the renowned AUSCRS discussions.

Stay tuned for updates with the program as they become available…

AUSCRS always enjoys a challenge when selecting venues and when we were in Queenstown in 2012, some said exhibiting at the Hilton just couldn’t be done. Of course we proved them wrong - again - and the AUSCRS Chalet, which took up two levels of the Hilton car parking area was deemed as being one of the best exhibition spaces ever!

This year, we will be raising that bar again and creating a different exhibition ‘world’ – themed to fit the adventure capital of the world! A prospectus and floor plan is now available.   Booth spaces will be allocated in the order of level of sponsorship/date and time of booking.

Contact Jenny Boden - - to request prospectus and floor plan.

It will be Chrystal Clear that you cannot miss AUSCRS 2019.
