The Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons was formed in 1995. It is a society dedicated to the specific interests and challenges of cataract and refractive surgery and offers a unique forum for discussion and learning for both surgeons and their support staff.

AUSCRS is affiliated with the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Asian Pacific Association of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (APACRS)  as well as other peer societies around the world.

AUSCRS continues to grow as a society with its core aim of being a committed, special-interest group of ophthalmologists interested in education and dissemination of knowledge, new techniques and exploring the boundaries of their specialty.

A word from our Co - Presidents

We are so grateful and happy to be Co-Presidents of AUSCRS. To take the reins at the 2022 conference was just a dream and having just headed up our first meeting together in 2023, we know the work that goes into making our Association so special.   Graham and Rick started AUSCRS from scratch just over twenty six years ago and through the annual meetings, together with Jenny Boden and her team, have created this supportive environment that encourages excellence, mentorship and support amongst cataract and refractive surgeons.

AUSCRS is a community that is referred to as “family” and we are honoured to be a part of this family.
