Dr Daniel Black

Dr Black has been practicing Ophthalmology on the Sunshine Coast since 1996. He is a graduate from the University of Queensland and trained in Ophthalmology in Brisbane, completing his training in Birmingham, England.

Dr Black has pioneered Micro-incision cataract surgery and is involved extensively in teaching surgeons in both Australia and Overseas. He is on the cutting edge of lens implant technology.

Dr Black is a Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist. He is also a Squadron Leader in the RAAF Reserves, visiting the RAAF Base Amberley monthly and is the visiting Ophthalmologist for the St George District Hospital in Western Queensland.

Dr Black is a member of various committees both nationally and internationally including the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine, Australian Defence Force Joint Consultative Ophthalmology Group and The Australasian Tecnis Lens Implant Advisory Board. He is invited lecturer to the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Adelaide.
